LOCOCO started with a simple frustration: why does every wellness drink ask you to settle? For bad taste, empty promises, or the feeling that you're doing penance instead of enjoying something real. We thought the people who hold themselves to a higher standard deserved a cocoa that did the same.
Hot chocolate has always carried a kind of magic — warmth, comfort, the feeling of slowing down. But somewhere along the way, the industry decided it was a kids' drink. Load it with sugar. Thin it out with fillers. Nobody's reading the label anyway.
Except people are. A whole generation of people who hold themselves to a higher standard — in what they eat, how they spend their time, what they put in their bodies — have been quietly waiting for a hot drink that met them there.
We started formulating in our kitchen. We pulled in chocolatiers. We obsessed over the base — organic cacao powders, coconut milk for creaminess, low-glycemic sweeteners that didn't mask the chocolate. We got the taste right first. Then we asked what else it could do.
The wellness industry has a trust problem. Too many products ask you to compromise on taste, on texture, on enjoyment — in exchange for a health claim that might not even hold up. We built LOCOCO with the opposite philosophy.
I'd spent years looking for a hot drink I could feel good about — something with actual nutrition, without the jitters of coffee and without the sugar load of most hot chocolates. I'd try something new, read the label, and feel vaguely cheated. Nothing checked every box.
I wanted something I could reach for in the morning without overthinking, in the afternoon without a crash, at night without it keeping me wired. Something that tasted genuinely good — not "good for what it is," just good. That drink didn't exist. So I made it.
I worked with chocolatiers to get the cacao base right — genuinely, independently good, the kind that wins taste tests blind against products that make no health claims at all. Then I added adaptogens at doses that could actually move the needle. The result surprised even the skeptics in my life.
LOCOCO isn't trying to be medicine or a meal replacement or a biohack. It's cocoa. But it's cocoa that gives a damn — about how it tastes, about what it does, and about the people who hold themselves to a standard worth keeping.
Not athletes specifically. Not a demographic. A mindset. The kind of person who reads the label, questions the default, and refuses to accept that something has to taste bad to be good for you — or that something functional has to feel like homework.
LOCOCO is for the founder pulling late nights who wants their 4pm drink to mean something. The parent who finally reclaimed five quiet minutes. The creative who needs a reset between calls. The person who's been reaching for coffee out of habit and wondering if there's something better.
Award-winning cocoa. A full gram of functional mushrooms. No trade-offs.
